This is the Police: A Strategic Adventure Game
This is the Police is a strategic adventure game developed by THQ Nordic. The game is available on Xbox One and falls under the category of adventure games. The plot revolves around Jack Boyd, a 60-year-old police chief of a small town Freeburg. Jack has only 180 days left to secure his pension for the rest of his life, which requires him to raise $500,000. On top of this, Jack is struggling with family affairs as his wife left him for another man, taking their children with her.
As if this wasn't enough, the mayor of Freeburg wants to fire Jack and has determined the terms of his dismissal. To make matters worse, there are two mafia groups in the city, and a war between them is about to erupt. Jack must navigate his way through the conflict and decide where his loyalties lie.
The game begins with Jack assigning tasks to his police force. Each officer has different abilities, experiences, and even shortcomings such as alcoholism. The game starts off easy but progressively becomes more difficult, requiring strategic thinking to manage the situation in the city. The ultimate goal is to survive until retirement and retire with enough capital.
